December 8 - 9, 2018	Valley Forge KC dog shows, Oaks, PA - December 8: In Rally Advanced, Dazzle scored a perfect 100 and by virtue of course time, she earned a third place finish! Terry handled her in Rally where they navigated the course perfectly and won the placement ribbon. Slider showed in conformation and he earned his first point towards his Championship! Handled by Margaret, he was awarded Winners Dog and Best of Winners. He also earned his first points in the AKC NOHS. The judge was Guy Jeavons. It was a good day for our Flatcoats in Pennsylvania. December 9: In conformation Tripper was entered in the National Owner Handler Series Sporting Group after taking BOB earlier in the day. Handled by Margaret he was awarded a Group 3 award by judge Vicky Creamer. Our young Field Spaniel also had a good day in PA. Overall, the Islandflats crew had a wonderful time at the 2018 Winter Blast Cluster!
November 25, 2018	Talcott Mountain Agility Club agility trials, W. Springfield, MA - In Master Jumpers Preferred, Dazzle earned a qualifying score and the 4th leg towards her MJP title! Tripper ran in Novice Fast where he earned a qualifying score and the third leg of his title! Now he's known as: CH Nautica's Day Tripper BN RN NA NAJ "NF" CGC. Both Dazzle and Tripper were handled by Margaret. It was a long day for all of us but our dogs ran beautifully today!
November 23, 2018	Windham County KC dog show, W. Springfield, MA - In conformation, Tripper was awarded BOS and he earned another point towards his Grand Championship title. He was handled by Margaret and the judge was Joe Walton. Tripper is looking really good lately and we're hoping for more success in the show ring in the future.
November 3 - Nov 4, 2018	Staten Island Companion Dog Training Club agility trials, Clifton, NJ - November 3rd: It's a new title for Tripper! Handled by Margaret, Tripper earned a qualifying score and a second place finish in Novice Standard Agility. Now he's known as CH Nautica's Day Tripper BN RN "NA" NAJ CGC. Our young Field Spaniel keeps learning, and earning new accolades. He's not done yet. We couldn't be happier! November 4th: Handled by Margaret, Dazzle earns a qualifying score and a fourth place finish in Master Jumpers Preferred and 9 more PACH points! It was such a smooth run, you could tell that Dazzle was ready to do it again if she could.
November 1 - Nov 2, 2018	Palisade KC dog shows, Bloomsburg, PA - November 1st: It wasn't his best performance but today Tripper earned a qualifying score and a third place finish in Novice Obedience! Handled by Terry, this was Tripper's first leg towards his CD title. They still have some bugs to work out but you can be sure that they'll be ready for the next obedience trial. November 2nd: It's Rally Obedience day for Islandflats! Handled by Margaret, Dazzle earned qualifying scores in Rally Excellent and Rally Advanced. That's the second leg towards her RAE title! Tripper went in the ring with Terry and earned a qualifying score and his second leg in Rally Intermediate. Expect to see us more Rally events in the future.
October 6 - 7, 2018	Ladies Kennel Association of America agility trials, Bayshore, NY - Margaret took both Dazzle and Tripper to Suffolk County, LI for some agility fun. It was a great weekend! Dazzle earned her 2nd leg in Master Jumpers Preferred and 9 PACH points! Tripper earned his 2nd Novice Standard leg and his 2nd Novice Fast leg. In Time to Beat Tripper earned his 1st leg and 10 points towards a new title. In addition to the green qualifying ribbons, Dazzle and Tripper also won blue rosettes for finishing first in all their respective classes. These dogs just keep on rolling!
September 30, 2018	Westbury Kennel Association dog show, Oyster Bay, NY - There couldn't be a more lovely day to have an outdoor dog show at such a beautiful venue. Let's start out with Obedience ... The Nassau Dog Training Club hels its 70th annual Obedience Trial (14th annual Rally Trial) and Margaret was the Chairperson. The trial ran without a hitch; all the dogs, handlers, judges, stewards and helpers had a great time. We had a breakfast bar, and really good lunch together at the trial's conclusion. The day didn't end there for our young boy Tripper who won BOB in the conformation ring - OK he was the only Field Spaniel entered. Not long afterwards he competed in the National Owner Handler Series and was awarded a NOHS Sporting Dog Group 3, by judge Patricia Robinson! Handled by Margaret, Tripper had a lot of fun, and he looked great strutting his stuff. Already (NOHS) nationally ranked in his breed, Tripper collected many more points to add to his ranking. Good Boy!
September 22, 2018	Long Island Golden Retriever Club agility trials, Bayshore, NY - It was a busy agility day for Islandflats ... First it was Tripper in Novice Standard. He had a nice run and earned a second place finish and his first qualifying leg in that class. Later, Dazzle had a clean run in Master Jumpers Preferred, and she earned a second place finish and her first qualifying leg in that class. Then, Tripper capped off the day in Open Jumpers. He finished first in that class and and earned his second qualifying leg. Handled by Margaret, Tripper and Dazzle brought home a slew of ribbons and rosettes. Way to go!
August 12, 2018	Harrisburg KC dog show, Harrisburg, PA - Today we wrap up our Summer trip to Pennsylvania's Capital, but not before Dazzle gets a chance to show our boys what she can do in Rally Obedience. In Rally Excellent, she earns a qualifying score of 86 and a fourth place finish. In Rally Advance, Dazzle earns a score of 98 and another fourth place finish. Handled by Margaret, this was Dazzle's first double Q in Rally, which counts towards her RAE title! It dosn't end there ... The two successful runs earns Dazzle the High Combined Rosette for her added scores in Rally Excellent B and Advance B. 2018 Harrisburg - Quite the trip for Islandflats!
August 11, 2018	Penn Ridge KC dog show, Harrisburg, PA - Slider enters his first dog show where he's actually old enough to compete for championship points. Handled by Margaret, Slider wins his class and is then awarded Reserve Winners Dog under judge Paula Nykiel. He behaved like a total puppy in the ring, but with some more seasoning he could have a bright show dog future ahead of him. At the same time that Slider was showing, Tripper was competing in Rally Obedience. Handled by Terry, Tripper scored a 98 and earned his first leg towards a Rally Intermediate title. He's been a very busy dog latey. Both our boys had a great day today and we had fun showing them.
August 10, 2018	Penn Ridge KC dog show, Harrisburg, PA - He hasn't competed in conformation very much lately, but today Tripper is awarded Best of Breed by judge Carol Sommerfelt against a competitive group of Field Spaniels, and he earns a three point major towards his Grand Championship. He has been running a lot of agility lately but he hasn't lost a step in the breed ring. Today Tripper was handled by Margaret.
August 4, 2018	Talcott Mountain Agiliity Club (TMAC) Summer Agility Trial, Hamden, CT - It was quite a day forTripper! Handled by Margaret, Tripper earned a qualifying score and a first place finish in both Novice Fast, and Open Jumpers. These are the first legs he earned in both these classes. Margaret commented, "He's a fast dog! I have to figure out a way to keep up with him ..."
July 28, 2018	Schooley's Mountain KC Agility Trial, Clifton, NJ - It's a new title for Dazzle! Today Margaret and Dazzle had a beautiful agility run in Preferred Excellent Jumpers. Dazzle earned a qualifying score, a first place finish and the third leg of her advance title. She's now known as Breezy Hill's Heart N Soul of Islandflats CD GN RE "AJP" CGC. Dazzle won't stop now ... it's on to Masters!
June 24, 2018	Taconic Hills KC - Early Summer Agility trial, Bayshore, NY - It's a new title for Tripper! Today Tripper and Margaret ran Novice Agility Jumpers on Long Island and earned a qualifying score and a first place finish! Tripper is now known as CH Nautica's Day Tripper BN RN "NAJ" CGC. He's still learning Agility but he's getting better and better each time he runs. It's our hope that Tripper keeps learning more and that he will one day run for advanced titles.
June 9, 2018	Greenwich KC dog show, Norwalk, CT - There was a special attraction for puppies 4 - 6 months old today, so we entered Slider in his first ever dog show! He did quite well. Handled by Margaret, Slider easily won BOB - he was the only puppy FCR - so he advanced to puppy Sporting Group. Judge Doug Johnson was impressed with Slider's structure and movement and awarded him a Puppy Sporting Group 3rd place award! Slider seemed to enjoy the attention although he didn't know what to do. These young ones were so cute!
May 21- May 23, 2018	FCRSA National Specalty, York, PA - It's the 2018 Flat Coated Retriever Nationals and Islandflats brought our crew to participate! Today (5/21) it was Dazzle in agility. Handled by Margaret, Dazzle earned a qualifying score with a clean run and a first place finish in Excellent Jumpers Preferred. This show is unique in that only Flat Coated Retrievers may enter, and Dazzle earned the second leg towards her title at this prestigious event. Slider made an impression on the many people who needed a flatcoat puppy fix, and Tripper came to support all the FCRs in competition. The show runs throughout the week, but we're only entered in Agility and Obedience, so we're headed home early. It was so nice to see all our friends and all the dogs!
April 29, 2018	Dog Agility Club of Long Island, Spring Agility Trials, Bayshore, NY - Handled by Margaret, Tripper was at it in agaility again today. He earned a qualifying score and a first place finish in Novice Jumpers! That's his second leg towards his first agility title. He also had a decent run in Novice Standard, but Tripper didn't qualify this time. He's still new at this and he will get better with more practice
March 31, 2018	Central New Jersey Hound Association, Agility trial, Metuchen, NJ - Today was Tripper's first ever agility trial. He likes to sniff a lot so we weren't sure what to expect. In Novice Jumpers Tripper and Margaret earned a qualifying score and a first place finish! In Novice Standard, Tripper's nose was to the ground and he didn't fare so well. For his first time out he did great! We'll keep training, so expect to see Tripper run at more agility trials in the future.
March 18, 2018	We brought home a new puppy! A handsome Flat Coated Retriever boy, his name is Slider, aka Blazin's Payoff Pitch. He endured the long car drive from Maryland to Long Island and immediately caught the attention of Dazzle and Tripper who are now showing him the ropes. Many thanks to Dawn Buttion and Marty Archambeault for entrusting this puppy to us, and to Marla Doheny, whose dog sired this beautiful litter. Check out Slider's page on our website!
March 17, 2018	Taconic Hills KC - St. Patty's Day Agility trial, Bayshore, NY - Dazzle carried with her the luck of the Irish today as she and Margaret earned a qualifying score and a first place finish in Excellent Jumpers Preferred agility. The course was tough but it didn't faze Dazzle as she had a clean run. That's the first leg towards her Excellent Jumpers Preferred title, but more important, she really enjoyed doing it.
February 25, 2018	It's another special day at Islandflats. Today is Tripper's birthday! It's a wet weekend here in Long Island, and we haven't had a chance to get to the store lately, but we're headed out in the rain to buy gifts for Dazzle and Tripper. Happy birthday Tripper, and to all your littermates from Nautica's "Beatles" litter. You're 3 today!
February 21, 2018	It's a special day at Islandflats as Dazzle turns 6 today! She didn't quite understand why she was getting all the extra attention, but she didn't mind it all that much either. We're celebrating Dazzle's birthday today and we couldn't be happier. Happy birthday to you Dazzle, and to all your littermates from the Breezy Hill "H" litter!
February 3, 2018	Taconic Hills Kennel Club, Agility Trials, Bayshore, NY - Its a new agility title for Dazzle! Margaret and Dazzle had a clean run, and a first place finish in Open Jumpers today. That's the third leg and a new OJP title! Dazzle is now known as: Breezy Hill's Heart N Soul of Islandflats CD GN RE "OJP" CGC. Things will only get better as she now bumps up to the advanced class in the quest for the more accolades, but we're most proud that our girl can do this and that she has so much fun doing it.
February 2, 2018	Today was our second annual *Islandflats Memorial Day. On this day we reflect back on our dogs who are no longer with us, as well as other pets who impacted our lives. Sixteen years ago today, our beautiful girl Crystal* was born. While we're saddened that she's no longer with us, we also think back about all the joy that she and our other dogs have brought us. We feel privileged to have been blessed with all of them.
January 13, 2018	Dog Agility Club of Long Island, Winter Agility Trials, Bayshore, NY - it's It's the start of a new year and even though it's cold outside Dazzle heads back to the Agility ring. Today Dazzle earned a qualifying score and a first place finish in Open Jumpers Preferred. Handled by Margaret, it was a clean run! This was Dazzle's second leg towards her title and it was a great way to stay active on a Winter afternoon.
