December 22, 2014	We heard the terrible news out of Massachusetts that Rasta, Islandflats Across the Universe (Logan x Crystal b.April 7, 2006) lost his battle with cancer. We are so grateful that he had such a wonderful family to love and who loved him. We will always treasure that. We know that Rasta is currently resting in the comforting paws of his littermate C.J. and his papa Logan at the Rainbow Bridge.
December 7, 2014	Valley Forge KC Dog Show - Oakes PA (Greater Philadelphia Expo Center): It's an infamous day in our Nation's history, but it was a triumphant day for Islandflats! Under judge Anne Savory Bolus, Dazzle was awarded Winner's Bitch for another point towards her championship! As things progressed, Lylah was awarded Best of Breed, and in doing so she earned another three point Major towards her Grand Championship! Both girls were handled by Margaret, with Terry chipping in with Dazzle on the BOB judging. Margaret & Lylah then went on to the Sporting Group owner handler series, but didn't have the same good fortunes that they did in the breed ring.
October 18, 2014	Albany KC Dog Show - West Springfield, MA: Dazzle and Margaret shine in the confirmation ring under judge Eugene Blake, as Dazzle is awarded Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex for one point. Lylah also struts her stuff and is awarded Select Bitch.
September 28, 2014	Westbury KC Dog Show - Oyster Bay, NY: Once again, Dazzle is awarded Winner's Bitch; but on this day Lylah was awarded BOB and earns another point towards her grand championship! The judge was Jean-Louis Blais. We would have loved to have Logan with us at this weekend's shows, but we know he was watching his family from the Rainbow Bridge, and that he was very pleased with how we did. We'd like to thank our friends at the NDTC who offered condolences and kind words towards Logan. The past few days we also heard a lot of nice things from our flatcoat friends as well as other family and friends, and we are truly appreciative for their support during these sad times.
September 27, 2014	Suffolk County KC Dog Show - St James, NY: With a heavy heart Islandflats brings our girls to the Long Island Dog Shows. Dazzle, handled by Terry is awarded Winner's Bitch under judge Robert Shreve, and Lylah, handled by Margaret is awarded BOS to the BOB for another point towards her grand championship. Later that day, Margaret and Lylah competed in the Sporting Group Owner Handler series.
September 22, 2014	We're deeply saddened to report that our boy Logan CH K'Mander Island Runner RN CGC b.9/14/2004 suddenly and unexpectedly passed away today. A huge hole in our hearts has been opened, and we're not quite sure what to say right now other than we'll always love you Logan, and we'll miss you immensely.
September 14, 2014	It's always a big deal when a Flat Coated Retriever reaches double digits, and today is such a day at Islandflats. It's Logan's 10th birthday! The weather today is pristine, so after we take Logan to the store to pick out a new toy, we're going to fire up the barbeque and celebrate. Happy birthday Logan. We love you!
August 30, 2014	Newton Kennel Club dog show - Sussex County Fairgrounds, Augusta, NJ: Today the judge was Mrs. Paula Nykiel and once again Dazzle places third in her class, and Lylah was chosen Select Bitch. This time Lylah earned a three point major towards her Grand Championship! In a separate award, Margaret placed first in our breed under the AKC National Owner Handler Series. It was a successful weekend for the Islandflats girls.
August 29, 2014	Newton Kennel Club dog show - Sussex County Fairgrounds, Augusta, NJ: It's the start of Labor Day weekend, and Lylah is back in the conformation ring where she was awarded Select Bitch under judge Sharon R. Lyons. Dazzle was in the ring earlier and placed third in her class, but it was Lylah who earned two more points towards her Grand Championship!
June 14, 2014	Bryn Mar Kennel Club dog show - Ludwigs Corner, PA: Islandflats returns to Pennsylvania where Dazzle struts her stuff in the conformation ring under judge Michael Faulkner. Handled by Margaret, Dazzle looks beautiful and she is awarded Winners Bitch for two points! Dazzle's been doing fairly well in connformation lately, lets hope she can keep the streak going ...
May 23 - 25, 2014	Bloomsburg Agility Runners Club agility trials - Bloomsburg, PA: Islandflats spends Memorial Day weekend in the Keystone State. Friday 5/23 - Lylah and Margaret run agility. Lylah earns her second leg and a first place finish in Novice Fast. In Open Standard she earns her second leg with a first place finish! Saturday 5/24 - Lylah earns her third "Q" and 8 more points towards her Time to Beat title. Sunday 5/25 - Lylah earns her third and final leg for her Open Standard title and she is now known as CH Islandflats American Pie CD RN OA* OAJ CDC*. She had a clean run with a first place finish! Now it gets more challenging as she advances to the Excellent level.
May 18, 2014	Long Island KC Dog Show - Oyster Bay, NY: Lylah and Dazzle are representing Long Island FCRs at a local dog show ...Dazzle wins her class and Winners Bitch for her first point! Lylah is awarded Best of Opposite Sex to the Best of Breed for 2 Grand Champion points! Both girls were handled by Margaret. The judge was Sharol Candice Way.
May 4, 2014	Trenton KC Dog Show - W. Windsor Township, NJ (MAFCRC Supported Entry): Dazzle is in the breed ring with Margaret; she wins her class, then is awarded Reserve Winners Bitch to a 5 point Major by judge Wendy Schira. No points for Dazzle this day, but we're so pleased that she did so well against so many other dogs. Definitely expect to see more of Dazzle in the upcoming months!
April 11 - 13, 2014	Dauphin Dog Training Club Agility Trials - Palmyra, PA (In The Net) - Islandflats treks to Pennsylvania, just outside Hershey, for three days of Agility Trials. 4/11: Lylah is entered in Open Jumpers With Weaves. She and Margaret have a beautiful qualifying run earning their third leg with a first place finish and another new title! Lylah is now known as CH Islandflats American Pie CD RN NA OAJ* CGC.* From now on she bumps up to the Excellent Class in JWW. 4/13: Lylah & Margaret run flawlessly in Open Standard, earning a second place ribbon and their first leg in that class! We had a lot of fun in PA this weekend, and we met up with friends we haven't seen in some time. Looking forward to returning there someday!
April 7, 2014	Today they're 8 years old! The Islandflats Rock & Roll "A" litter celebrates another birthday! Lylah sends hugs & kisses to her littermates: Piper and Rasta and forever in our hearts, C.J. We still remember the joyous and tiring night of their birth in 2006 when we were blessed with such beautiful puppies and such great puppy people. Here's to many more birthdays! Cheers!
February 28 - March 2, 2014	Deleware County Kennel Club Agility Trials - Gloucester County, NJ (Dream Park): More Agility for Lylah! 2/28: It's Lylah's first entry to the "Time to Beat" classes. Handled by Margaret, she earns a qualifying score and 6 points towards her title - she needs 10 Qs and 100 points total. 3/02: Lylah is at it again. In Time to Beat she earns another 7 points and another Q. Later in Jumpers, Lylah earns a qualifying score, with a first place finish in her height class, and another leg towards her Open JWW title!
February 21, 2014	Dazzle turns 2 today! The Breezy Hill "H" litter celebrates it's 2nd birthday. Dazzle, purple puppy, gets two new purple toys. The entire crew at Islandflats wishes Dazzle and her littermates a very Happy Birthday!
February 1, 2014	Another Birthday Celebration at Islandflats! Today Crystal turns 12. She might be a little slower, and maybe she sleeps a little more than she used to, but Crystal is still the Queen of our house and everyone here knows it. Happy Birthday Cystal. We love you so much!
January 12, 2014	Dog Agility Club of Long Island - Bayshore, NY: It's day 2 of the Agility trials on Long Island, and with new titles in her back pocket, Lylah can "bump up" to a more advanced level. Today Margaret & Lylah earn their first qualifying leg with a first place finish in the 24" Open Jumpers WW Class. It was a great way to get things started. Good job Lylah!
January 11, 2014	Dog Agility Club of Long Island - Bayshore, NY: It's a new title for Lylah! Margaret and Lylah are in the agility ring today, and Lylah earns a qualifying score and a first place finish in the 24" Standard Novice Class. More important, it's the third leg she earned in that class, so Lylah gets a new title! She's now known as CH Islandflats American Pie CD RN NA* NAJ CGC.* We're so proud of Lylah's accomplishments. In other news, Dazzle competes in Novice Fast Preferred, and earns a qualifying score which is her first leg in that class! A very good agility day for Islandflats indeed.
