December 3 - 4, 2011	Deleware County KC Agility trials, Gloucester County, NJ: Islandflats first trip to Dream Park! Crystal and Margaret have quite a weekend. On Saturday Crystal earns another QQ, while on Sunday she earns a qualifying score in the Excellent B jumpers class. Add another 9 MACH pts to Crystal's grand total. You could never tell that in a few more weeks she'll turn 10 years old!
November 25 - 28, 2011	2011 Thanksgiving Classic, W. Springfield, MA - Talcott Mountain Agility Club trials / Leap Agility Club trials: Margaret brings Crystal back to the Agility Excellent rings and finishes up the long weekend trip with 2 QQs and another 16 MACH points. There's no stopping them! Windham County KC dog show (NEFCRC Supported Entry): Terry & Logan are back in the Rally ring where Logan earns a qualifying score, and is high scoring FCR at the Rally trial. A fun weekend for the Islandflats crew!
October 23, 2011	Skyline Agility Club trials - Yorktown Heights, NY: A new agility title for Crystal !! On the course with Terry, Crystal earns a qualifying score and a second place finish in the Novice Standard 16" class. With that comes more letters to add to her name: TLC Starlite's First Gleaming CD RE MX MXJ NAP* NJP NF NAC TN-N RL1 CGC. Now, Terry is really going to be challenged as Crystal introduces him to more advanced classes. Oye.*
October 16, 2011	A NEW AKC CHAMPION !!! Ramapo Kennel Club dog show, Augusta, NJ (MAFCRC Supported Entry): Lylah was awarded Winner's Bitch, won a 4 point major under judge: Betsy Horn Humer, and earned her AKC Championship title! Lylah is now known as *CH Islandflats American Pie CD RN CGC. Lylah* was owner-handled by Margaret for all of her conformation points! It was a great day at Islandflats; new toys and extra cookies for all the dogs!
October 16, 2011	Ramapo Kennel Club dog show, Augusta, NJ: Now that he's age eligible, Logan enters Veteran Sweeps at the MAFCRC Supported Entry and wins Best In Veteran Sweepstakes under judge: Karolynne McAteer. Logan was handled by Margaret and looked great! Pretty good entry for a first time veteran.
September 14, 2011	It's Logan's Birthday! Logan turns 7 years old today. He is now eligible to compete as a veteran (oh my)! You wouldn't know that by his appearance or the way he acts. Happy Birthday Logan to you and all your littermates.
June 18 - 19, 2011	Agility Association of Central New Jersey agility trials - Rahway, NJ: Islandflats celebrates Father's Day ... On Saturday, Terry ran Crystal in the Novice Standard Preferred 16" class and on Sunday they ran in the Novice Jumpers Preferred 16" class. They didn't fair well on Saturday, But they won the class on Sunday and with that comes a new title! Crystal is now: TLC Starlite's First Gleaming CD RE MX MXJ NJP* NF NAC TN-N RL1 CGC.* On Saturday and Sunday Margaret ran Lylah in Novice Standard 24" and Novice Jumpers 24". On Saturday, Lylah won her Jumpers class and earned another leg towards her JWW title. She didn't qualify on her other runs, but she ran well, and she sure came close!
June 6 - 10, 2011	2011 Flat-Coated Retriever Society of America National Specialty - Frederick, MD: The entire Islandflats crew hits the road for this year's nationals ... In Agility Crystal wins the Excellent Standard B 20" class! This gives her 10 more MACH points. Lylah earns her first leg in standard by winning the Novice Standard B 24" class! In Rally,Logan earns a qualifying score in the Novice B class! In conformation, Crystal struts her stuff in Veteran's Sweeps, Lylah shows off in the American Bred Bitches class, and Logan competes in Best of Breed. None of our dogs placed in confirmation, but they looked damn good - if we do say so ourselves. This year's Specialty took place in the midst of a heat wave, but despite the soaring temperatures the Islandflats crew had a really cool time with many great people (and their dogs) and with it came memories which we will cherish always.
May 15, 2011	Nutmeg Portuguese Water Dog Club agility trials - Yorktown Heights, NY: Crystal and Margaret earn another MX leg, 1 MACH point and just missed a double QQ by 1 second! Lylah had her idea of fun in Novice Standard and Novice Jumpers with Weaves, which resulted in no Qs.
May 14, 2011	Port Chester ODT Agility Trials - Yorktown Heights, NY: A NEW TITLE ... This time Terry steps into the agility ring with Crystal and earns the final leg of her Novice Fast title with a third place finish! Now she's known as: TLC Starlite's First Gleaming CD RE MX MXJ NF* NAC TN-N RL1 CGC. Crystal loves agility and she continues running - despite Terry's lack of experience (-;*
April 29 - May 1	Greater NY Herding Club AKC Agility Trials - Yaphank, NY: Crystalearns her first two legs in both Novice Preferred Standard as well as Novice Jumpers Preferred with three first place finishes and one second place finish. On April 30th, Lylah ran too, and navigated both the Standard and Jumpers course but she did not qualify. Maybe next time ...
April 7, 2011	Happy Birthday to the Islandflats Rock & Roll "A" litter. Lylah and her littermates, Piper, CJ andRasta are 5 today! We wish them all a very happy birthday, with many more to follow.
