We attend many dog shows, and we often spend time as spectators at different breed rings - we're not limited to Flat-Coated Retrievers. At one such show in 2012, we were captivated by activities in the Field Spaniel ring. Moving forward, we found ourselves drawn to other Field Spaniel venues, and after spending some time with Field Spaniel people and their dogs, we agreed that it would be a great fit to add one to our family.

In February 2015, Nautica's "Beatles" litter was whelped in Indiana, and we're fortunate to be entrusted with "purple boy". There is a large cache of Beatles songs and history for us to choose a name and we went with "Day Tripper" because this pup traveled a lot of miles to be with us, and he will continue to do so as he attends and participates in dog events.

Tripper is a very active and playful dog who moves nicely and has the sweetest face. In July 2016, Tripper was awarded his AKC Championship with 4 majors, and he completed his title in the 12 & under 18 Months Dogs class. Since then, Tripper has earned multiple placements in the Sporting Group and the AKC National Owner Handler Series Sporting Group.

We're still showing Tripper in conformation, obedience, rally and agility, but we're taking things slow as this is a new breed for us, and we have so much to learn.
